18. July 2016 Niš – The towns of Prokuplje and Knjaževac hosted this week the workshops about revision of Local Action Plans for Children and Roma Education. These plans were valid until 2015 when they expired. Workshop in Prokuplje was held on 18 July and was devoted to LAP for Children and Youth. Workshop in Knjazevac was held on 19 July at Municipality building and was devoted to revision of LAP for Education of Roma.
The workshops brought together more than 30 representatives of relevant local institutions such as municipal administrations, preschools, primary and secondary schools, youth offices, Red Cross, NGOs, student parliaments, local police station and Health centers, National Employment Service and Centers for Social Work.
Both workshops were facilitated by Ms. Jasmina Vujnovic from WEBIN, while key input was delivered by experienced LAP professional Ms. Slavica Stanisavljevic from CIC PRALIPE.
It has been agreed at both workshops to start with evaluation of implementation of expired LAPs and conduct primary assessment of needs, and afterwards to analyze possibilities to insert new supporting measures in new LAPs, such as funding for TUTORING program. It is expected that LAPs will be adopted by the end of 2016. in all 3 municipalities.
